Tactile skin for a humanoid dexterous hand
Placeholder case. Fabric e-skin on fingertips and palm improved grasp success on fragile and transparent objects.
Tactile skin for a humanoid dexterous hand
Challenge
Vision-only grasping failed on transparent cups and soft packaging. Rigid sensors could not follow the curvature of the fingers.
Solution
We designed shape-matched fabric skins for each phalanx and palm, connected through a modular bus to the robot controller via ROS 2.
